In this project my aim is to display the complexity of social existence, picturing the untouched belief of women in past 4 decades, who still try to fit in modern globalized world. To reach that goal, needlepoint seemed to be a perfect media for me. Combining visual and textual elements, while keeping the existence of the original medium, lead me to a new framework.
The contrast of modern young women and its subtle mixture with 18th centuries beauty, shock the audience and challenge them to realize the paradoxical reality behind the surface of the society, the fact that picking western culture as a role model doesn’t fit us neither in needle points nor in real life.Ghazaleh Avarzamani
