Using the treasures of her Iranian heritage, Malekeh Nayiny mines collective and personal memory to create uniquely individual works. Uniting past, present and future, she explains: 'I had the feeling that what I was trying to accomplish was a prolongation of my separation with the past. It became evident to me that if I was to go forward with my life I had to somehow assimilate all these bits and pieces with my life before.'
Born in Teheran, Iran. Malekeh Nayiny
obtained a B.A. in fine arts and
photography from Syracuse University in 1978 followed by advanced
