[Artist Biography]

Shahram's pictures may appear "strange" on first contact. They are however not closed, but enclose many thoughts and feelings which work on different levels of memories and descriptions. Before painting, Shahram writes (he is also lyrically talented) poetry on the surface to be painted. In over-painted text pictures, themes such as materiality, reality, poetry and truth are mixed intensively with one another. With these works, the artist creates an artistic bridge, a poetic bridge between philosophy, art and life. (Prof Dr Frank Günter Zehnder)
