Janet Rady Fine Art is proud to announce our latest exhibition, “She” running from July 23, 2024 to August 12, 2024.. This powerful collection features a diverse array of artworks that honour and explore Black women’s multifaceted identities and experiences.
The exhibition brings together twelve works from different artists, narrating unique stories of beauty and strength with vibrant visual devices.
From striking portraits to evocative abstract landscapes, “She” presents a tapestry of representations, inviting the audience to celebrate of feminine expression and excellence. By combining this captivating variety of images, the exhibition aims to enchant and inspire. We wanted to create a space where the sheer beauty and vibrant essence of black women could be celebrated through art, capturing the unique and captivating presence of each subject through a multitude of artistic approaches.
The images engage with themes of African identity, experiences of blackness, femininity, female leadership, and cultural heritage. They touch upon the numerous societal roles and pressures that are synonymous with womanhood, whilst simultaneously embracing the beauty and significance behind its reality.
Featured artists include established names such as Olaksunkanmi Akomolehin, Lasisi Babatunde Damilare, Habibatou M Yaye Keita, Akingbade Mayowa, Victor Olaoye, Ganiu Ismail, Nadia Wamunyu, alongside rising talents like Themba Sibeko, Enoch Chunweuba, Jeffery Baidoo, Osman Salifu and James Mishio. Their works span various mediums and styles, offering a comprehensive and inclusive narrative that resonates with a wide audience, emphasising humanity and as the overarching theme of the exhibition.
