WHO WE ARE
Now in its tenth successful year, Janet Rady Fine Art represents a wide range of cutting edge Contemporary Arab and Iranian artists as well as International artists whose work references the Middle East.
Based between London and the United Arab Emirates, Gallery Director and Curator, Janet Rady is a Specialist in Contemporary Art from the Middle East, with thirty years’ experience of the International Art Market including Leading Auction Houses and Major Commercial Galleries. Born in Malta, Janet first visited the Middle East when she went to Iran in 1974 and subsequently lived there for a year from 1983-84. She now travels regularly to the region.
Janet Rady holds a Masters Degree in Islamic Art History from the University of Melbourne and a BA from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. She is a member of the Arab British Chamber of Commerce and sits on the Advisory Council of CARAVAN. Janet is also the Hon Lectures Secretary for the Iran Society, on the Editorial Board of the Middle East in London magazine, a nominator for the V&A Jameel Prize, curator for the Benetton Foundation Imago Mundi Project and a Judge for the BEHNAM BAKHTIAR AWARD. Janet has recently curated an exhibition of 38 Premier Bahraini, Egyptian and Lebanese artists entitled "KHALIL GIBRAN: A Guide for our Times" at Sotheby's London and edited the book “33 Artists… 33 Islands… A Kingdom of Art" - a comprehensive survey of the artists of Bahrain. She is the curator of the I AM touring exhibition of 31 women artists from the Middle East, now showing at The Fine Arts Gallery, Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tennessee, USA.
WHAT WE DO
Janet Rady Fine Art offers bespoke curatorial and consultancy services to Clients incorporating all aspects of Collection Management. We also offer independent, impartial advice and assistance with purchasing and selling artworks by Middle Eastern and other artists, either privately or at auction.
Our Clients include private individuals, art advisors and interior designers from the UK, USA, Europe, Egypt, Lebanon, UAE, Bahrain, Qatar and Iran, and we are proud also to have placed works in institutions such as the British Museum, V&A, Metropolitan Museum of Art, NYC and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, CA.
