Painted at a time during which family meant a great deal to the artist; visiting distant relatives in far-away places and Green is known as a healing colour so the artist used this as a way to express her emotions at re-uniting.
Nadira Azzouz
Born in Mosul in 1927, Nadira Azzouz started painting from the age of six, later studying art at the School of Domestic Fine Arts in Baghdad (1944-49).
